Emma Gladys SMITH

Spring City, TN resident, former Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Emma Gladys Smith, age 88, was born August 10, 1918 and died July 22, 2007 at Spring City Care and Rehab in Spring City, TN following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Ruben and Ella Overturff Fults. She was married in 1943 to Cecil Lee Smith who preceded her in death in 1974. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by nineteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Gladys "Dosh" and John Morrison of Fairfield Glade, TN and Martha June Scribner of Sundance, WY; sister, Jessie Milligan of Spring City, TN; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Smyrna Cemetery.
