Virginia Alene BODKER

McMinnville resident and Dekalb County, TN native Virginia Alene Bodker, age 80, was born September 15, 1927 and died February 23, 2008 at her residence following a four-month illness. A hairdresser and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Henry Iverson and Jenny Pearl Taylor Jones. She was married to Noel Davis and later to Chris Bodker, both of whom preceded her in death. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Dean Davis; sisters, Jessie Owens, Mae Roberts, Dorothy Johnson and Doris Evelyn Smith and brother James Thurman Jones. She is survived by one brother, Henry I. Jones, Jr. of Old Hickory, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in High's Chapel with Gary Few officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery.
