Verna Mae LAWSON

McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Verna Mae Lawson, age 98, was born October 21, 1912 and died June 9, 2011 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of McMinnville Garment Company and member of the Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Cora Dodson Medley. She was married to John Winfred Lawson who preceded her in death in 1973. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Avery Lawson and granddaughter, Margaret Watts. She is survived by five grandchildren and their spouses, Patricia and Kenny Roberts, Charles and Sonda Lawson, Kenneth Lawson, and Scotty and Angela Lawson all of McMinnville and Chris and Eddie Kirby of Arkansas; step-granddaughter, Katrina Hobbs and husband Bucky of McMinnville; fifteen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service and interment was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Scotty Lawson officiating.
