Willie Mae SAVAGE

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Willie Mae Savage, age 86, was born July 20, 1924 and died February 9, 2011 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of J.C. Penney and former Grundy County school teacher, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Henry and Osha Ellen Knight Nunley and a member of the Baptist Church. She was married February 9, 1946 to Osbon Franklin Savage who preceded her in death August 25, 2007. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Henry Howard Nunley and sister, Thelma Lou King. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Franklin and Ann Savage of McMinnville; grandson, Steven Franklin Savage and wife Heather of Nashville, TN; brother-in-law, Calbert King of Grundy County, TN and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 at Philadelphia Cemetery with Lanny Johnson officiating.
