Wavie Novella HOOVER

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Wavie Novella Hoover, age 94, was born October 12, 1917 and died January 31, 2012 at Generations of Spencer following an extended illness. A retired employee of Genesco and member of the Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Charles and Delia Curtis Moffitt. She was married May 21, 1956 to Alton Ross Hoover who preceded her in death in 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Dona, Jesse Lee, Lester, Alpha and J.C. Moffitt, Eunice Christian, Minnie Whitaker and Lona Kirby. She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Aubrey Hutchings of Smithville, TN; step-children, Harold (Emma) Hoover and Alene Southard both of McMinnville and Edward (Nancy) Hoover of Signal Mountain, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 in High's Chapel with Teddy Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
