Nellie Starkey

Nellie Starkey, age 85, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native died December 14, 2015 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness. She was a homemaker, member of the Smyrna Church of Christ and daughter of the late Noah Howard Byron and Rena Catherine Jarrels Keel. Mrs. Starkey was married June 29, 1956 to Alford Bales "Hoot" Starkey who preceded her in death March 11, 2013. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by son, Herbert Starkey; sister, Isabell Keel Bouldin and brothers, Joe, Harry, Lex and Charles Keel. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Billy & Joyce Starkey of McMinnville, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Thanks to our extended family at Raintree Manor for their great care and compassion. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 in High's Chapel with David Costello to officiate. Interment will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 and 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service at High's.
