Rachel Elizabeth Barnes

Rachel Elizabeth Barnes, age 74, a McMinnville, TN resident and Marion County, TN native died August 2, 2016 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was a homemaker, member of the Baptist Church and daughter of the late Fred and Nora Nunley McHones. Mrs. Barnes was married February 15, 1963 to Billy Charles Barnes who preceded her in death on November 19, 2009. Survivors include three sons and daughter-in-law, Rickey Christian of Chattanooga, TN, Billy and Donna Barnes and Mason Barnes all of McMinnville; daughter, Nora McBride of McMinnville; grandchildren, Hannah Christian of Chattanooga, Bryan Christian and wife Michelle and April Barnes all of McMinnville; four great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Presnell of Whitwell, TN; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 in Billy C. Barnes Cemetery with Damion Johnson to officiate. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at High's.
