Alberta Griffith

McMinnville resident and Cannon County, TN native Alberta Griffith, age 98, was born June 8, 1925 and died February 23, 2024 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation in McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker, loving mother and a member of McMinnville First Freewill Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late William Augustus and Gertrude Lewis Willard. She was married to E.C. “Bill” Griffith on December 3, 1948 who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, James (Maude) Willard, Ben Willard, Carter (Ruby) Willard, Elmo (Ruth) Willard, Mattie (Wiley) Nichols, Lillie Willard, Dr. Frank (Katherine) Willard and Carrie Mae Willard; niece, Loretta Chapman and nephew, Eddie Nichols. Mrs. Griffith is survived by three children, Anita (Richard) Haley, Alicia "Lisa" (Mark) Bridges and Anthony Griffith, all of McMinnville; nieces and nephews, Carta Marie Willard Gaither, Linda (Donald) Ammerman, Donna Nichols, Danny (Claudia) Nichols, Jim (Melony) Willard and heart-kin family, Bro. Brett Cook, Sr., Lindsey Cook, Brett Cook, Jr., Sarah (Garrett) Smartt, Deborah Cook, Silas Cook, Thomas Cook and Rhonda Richards. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Bro. Brett Cook, Bro. Bill Eversole and Bro. Rex Boles officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
