Alberta Catherine Hobbs

McMinnville resident and Grundy County, TN native Alberta Catherine Hobbs, age 81, was born January 24, 1943 and passed away December 24, 2024 at her residence following an extended illness.  

Mrs. Hobbs attended Antioch Baptist Church in Coalmont, TN for the last fifty years.  She was preceded in death by father, Claudie Pease;  mother, Ollene King Pease;  son, Jeffery David Hobbs;  daughter, Deborah Hawkins;  siblings, Ralph Pease, JP Pease, Carolyn Sims, Patricia Turner and Faron Leon Pease.

She is survived by husband, Carl David Hobbs;  daughter, Sheila (Steve) Johnson;  son-in-law, Ricky Hawkins;  grandchildren, Jeffery (LeAnne) Hobbs, Brandon Dale, Jessica (Jalen) Christian, Jared (Tori) Johnson, Hannah (Dustin) Lewis and Ethan (Stephanie) Hawkins;  fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way;  brother, Claude Pease;  sisters, Francis Turner, Hassie Dixon and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024 in High's Chapel with Mike Rigsby officiating.  Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at High's.
