Barbara Jane Parson

McMinnville, TN resident and Geneva, NY native Barbara Jane Parson, age 89, was born October 31, 1932 and died December 17, 2021 at Willow Branch Health & Rehabilitation in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A retired dietician from Coffee County Hospital and a member of Morrison United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late William Robert and Christine Lightfoote. She was married to Dewey Parson who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Gary and Tommy Parson; grandson, Matthew; and brother, Rodney Lightfoote. Mrs. Parson is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Carla Parson of Morrison; eight grandchildren, Darren Parson, Christy Parson, Michael Parson, Brittany Ley, Travis Parson, Ashlyn Lee, Paul Parson, and Tina Hood; eight great-grandchildren; very special friend and caregiver, Ruby Vasquez; and four sisters-in-law, Ida Snell, Ann Arbuckle, Oma Lee Shelton, and Carolyn Blowers. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Morrison United Methodist Church in Morrison, TN with Lannie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
