Betty Sue King

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Betty Sue King, age 75, was born March 12, 1947 and died November 17, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness.            

A beloved wife and mother, retired employee of Kroger and of the Baptist faith, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Youngblood and Ella Etta Pelham Pendleton. She was married to Austin Henry King of McMinnville, TN on January 19, 1963. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Austin Henry King, Jr.; siblings, Haskell Pendleton, Ralph Pendleton, Estell Hillis and Clata Turner and special nephew, Marcus King.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. King is survived by four children, Dwight King of Rock Island, TN, Allen (Penny) King of Sparta, TN and Anna (Danny) Smedley and Jeffery (Brandy) King, both of McMinnville, TN; eight grandchildren, Bethany Trainer, Tessa King, Allison Chilton, Collin Smedley, Juliua Johnson, Haley King, Brittany King and A.J. King; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn (Cecil) King of McMinnville, TN; brother, Roy Pendleton of McMinnville, TN; special nieces, Connie Green and Cindy Barnes; special nephews, Tim King and Mike Hillis and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Mike Hillis, Collin Smedley and Tim King officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
