Betty Jean Turner, age 92, a McMinnville resident and former resident of Eagle Lake, FL died June 25, 2025 at her home following a lingering illness. She was born February 11, 1933.
A retired employee of GTE and member of the Church of Christ, she was born in Bay Minette, AL to Woodie W. and Bessie Agerton Thomas both of whom preceded her in death. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis William "Bill" Turner; son, William Royce Turner; grandson, William Colby Turner; son-in-law, Michael Holloway; two sisters and four brothers all of Florida.
Mrs. Turner is survived by one daughter, Shirlene (Kermit) Stiles of McMinnville; five granddaughters, Megan Hardgrave of Columbia, TN, Hilary (Bryan) Jones of Melissa, TX, Annie Collier of Anna, TX and Ashley (Houston) Simons and Autumn Turner both of McMinnville; grandson, Cory (Andrea) Turner of McMinnville; thirteen great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews of Florida and special family, Carolyn Bickford and Gloria and Preston Grissom.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to special caregiver, KrisAnn Mayfield and Gentiva Hospice and all their wonderful staff for all their care.
A graveside service and inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at Smyrna Cemetery with Derrick Stiles officiating. There will be no visitation or service at High's as family and friends will meet at Smyrna Cemetery for the graveside service.
