Betty Frances Yates

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Betty K. Yates, age 90, was born July 29, 1934 and died May 13, 2025 at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following an extended illness.

Mrs. Yates was a former employee of Cheer Mental Health and a member of Central Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Artie Atnip Kell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Carolyn Smith.

Mrs. Yates was married to Jimmy Yates of McMinnville on September 26, 1986. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Yates is survived by daughters, Tammy Baldwin of Louisville, KY and Sherry (Tim) Ferguson of Bowling Green, KY; grandchildren, Sarah (Russ) Curry of Bowling Green, KY and Sheena Stevenson of Ft. Myers, FL; great-grandchild, Athena; step-children, Greg (Lorie) Yates of McMinnville and Benita (Jackie) Troglen of Murfreesboro, TN; step-grandchildren, Courtney Byers and Lindsey Adams; niece, Kay Basham and nephew, Kelly Basham.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Bill Zechman and Doug Bost officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
