Billy Ray Cothren

Billy Ray Cothren, age 74, of McMinnville, TN died Sunday, June 19, 2022 surrounded by his family. Mr. Cothren was born September 10, 1947 in Madison County, Alabama to the late Ross and Flossie Cothren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Ray Cothren and sisters, Eveline Quick and Edith Cox. Mr. Cothren retired from A.O. Smith after 39 years. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed camping and gardening. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Cothren leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Brenda Mayes Cothren of McMinnville, TN; daughter, Jenny Page (Jay) of McMinnville, TN; son, Royce Cothren of McMinnville, TN; grandchildren, Heather Jones (Daniel), Billy Wayne Cothren and Ryan Cothren (Kaylin), all of McMinnville, TN; great-grandchildren, Hudson Jones and Mallory Cothren, both of McMinnville, TN; sister, Joann Cox of Hazel Green, AL; a host of nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at High’s. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of High Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Smith and Bro. Carson Rust officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
