Birda Mae Thomas

Murfreesboro, TN resident and Warren County, TN native, Birda Mae Thomas, age 79, was born October 23, 1942 and died July 26, 2022 at her residence in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Oster Corp. and a member of Clark United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Lee Robertson and Lillie Bell Brown. She was married to Fred M. Thomas, who preceded her in death on April 17, 2003. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gina Elaine Ekpenike. Ms. Thomas is survived by two daughters, Tonya Thomas of Murfreesboro, TN and Deborah (Thomas) Grayson of Smyrna, TN; five grandchildren, Toshia Thomas, Tamra Thomas-Simmons, Britnei Thomas, Derricka Fox and Donneisha Jennings; seven great-grandchildren, Jaylun Thomas, Tiara Smith, Keara Smith, Kamia Bilbrew, Josiah Simmons, Dominick Mohead and Jayden Pack and two sisters, Lillie Mae Martin of Detroit, MI and Carolyn Cummings of Smryna, TN. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Michael Harris officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
