Smithville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Bonnie Gail Hopkins Rigsby, age 73, was born June 19, 1952 and died November 17, 2025 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness.
A retired special education assistant with Dekalb County School System and member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church in Smithville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Leola Herman Hopkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Scott Austin Rigsby and brother, Willie Lee Hopkins.
Bonnie was married to Don Rigsby of Smithville, TN on May 17, 1970. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Kevin (Bethany) Rigsby of Smithville, TN, Kyle (Rachel) Rigsby of Murfreesboro, TN and Allison (Jeremy) Taylor of Smithville, TN; five grandchildren, Laurie Beth Rigsby, Sydney Cheryl Rigsby, Marlee Kate Rigsby, John Luke Taylor and Jake Liam Taylor; siblings, Jessie Ray Hopkins of Chickamauga, GA, Shirley Neal of McMinnville, TN, Faye Davis of Cookeville, TN, Laura Wade of McMinnville, TN and Mary Lou Prater, Girlene Hopkins, Johnny Dale Hopkins, Gary Hopkins and Jerry Hopkins, all of Spencer, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church in Smithville, TN with Bill Robertson and Jimmy Arms officiating. Burial will follow at Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High’s and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church.
