Carla Dean McGee Craven

Carla Dean McGee Craven, age 72 of McMinnville, TN, was born on June 29, 1953 and passed away on March 17, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

She was loving mother and “Nan” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and it was her greatest joy to spend time with them. She enjoyed holidays and birthday celebrations and always made her home magical during the Christmas season. She had a love for flowers and working and planting in her yard, going to the beach, and her two dogs.

She was married to the love of her life, Jessie Grant Craven, on August 1, 1981, who preceded her in death. Their bond was one of deep companionship, and she carried his memory always in her heart. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Iris McGee, brother Larry (Rose) McGee, and sister Dinah (Wade) Wanamaker.

She was a loving mother to two daughters, Darla (Mark) Seymour, Deana (Mike) Jones, and a proud “Nan” to four grandsons, Evan (Taylor) Jones, Aaron (Anna) Jones, Sloan Seymour and Sawyer Seymour, and three great-grandchildren, Jane Jones, John Evan Jones, and Geer Jones. She is also survived by sister-in-law Rose McGee, brother-in-law Wade Wanamaker and special friend, Teresa Harris.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2026 in High’s Chapel with Jeff McKinley and Glenn Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Grange Hall Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
