McMinnville, TN resident and native Carolyn Sue Preslar, age 78, was born July 8, 1947 and died May 21, 2026 at her residence following a short illness.

A homemaker and a member of Covenant Fellowship Church, she was the daughter of the late Freeland Clark and Mary Frances Norrod Southard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Gary and Jack Southard and sisters, Deborah Calvert and Marilyn Lou Southard. She had a love of music, and was proud of her Native American ancestry.

Ms. Preslar is survived by her children, Carl Thompson, Jr. of Greeneville, KY, Tamara Renee Collins of Cleveland, OH and Kenneth Justin Collins of McMinnville, TN; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald Southard of McMinnville, TN and Freeland Wayne Southard of OH; sister, Pamela Mitchell of McMinnville, TN, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2026 in High’s Chapel with Bro. Dean Northcutt officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
