Carrie Evelyn Moore

Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Carrie Evelyn Moore, age 78, was born May 31, 1944 and died October 5, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired factory worker and of the Church of God faith, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Martha Smartt King. She was married to Albert Houston Moore who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandson, Paul "Peewee" Ward; brothers, Raymond, Leonard, Angus Hugh and Carl David King; sister, Hazel Rutledge and step-father, Creed King. Ms. Moore is survived by two children, Johnnie Glenda Moore and Houston E. (Clara) Moore, both of Rock Island, TN; three grandchildren, Ashley (Cody) Cantrell, J.J. (Kat) Moore and Kateland (Jackson) Smartt; six great-grandchildren, Calliegh, Stormy and Samuel and Bryson, Madelyn and Harvey; brother, Johnny Douglas (Frances) King of Rock Island, TN; sister, Thelma Lucille “Bill” King of Rock Island, TN and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 at New Union Cemetery in Warren County, TN. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.
