Chad Miles Avent

Smithville, TN resident and Sumner County, TN native Chad Miles Avent, age 49, was born July 26, 1976 and died August 23, 2025 at his residence following a sudden illness. 

Mr. Avent was the son of William and Brenda Avent of Columbia, TN. In addition to his parents, he is survived by daughters, Ashly (Scotty) Jones of Murfreesboro, TN, Hillary Lackey and Casey Avent, both of Gainsboro, TN; grandchildren, Desinty, Katelynn, Aroura, Anastasia and Orion Jones; sister Shaunna (Jeremy) Raines of Nashville. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Ann Ray and wife, Zelda Renee Avent. 

Per his wishes, Mr. Avent will be cremated. His family will hold a Celebration of Life on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in High's Parlors.
