Chad Newby

Gentry Chad Newby, age 43, of McMinnville, Tennessee entered into Heaven on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12:58 pm as the result of a sudden illness.

Chad was born on May 30,1979 in McMinnville, Tennessee to Gentry Cleveland “Bucky” Newby and Wanda Kaye Ballew Newby.

Chad was a 1997 graduate of Warren County High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2006 from Tennessee Tech University. Chad was a partner in his family company TN Construction.

As a child, Chad loved Superman, Barnaby, Cepadope (his imaginary friend), and rummy games with Granny. He spent his summers swimming with his friends and riding his motorcycle. As a teenager, Chad joined the high school golf team and developed a love for the game. He would continue playing tournaments and 9 holes with friends in the afternoons. Chad was a lover of music and a talented musician. His favorite band was Widespread Panic and he followed them around seeing them close to 200 times. Chad will be remembered around town for his “Ice, Ice Baby” performances.

He was married to his soulmate and love of his life, Lyndsey Lora Cook Newby, on September 19, 2020. He loved their fur babies, Blue and Stella.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gentry and Wilma Newby; maternal grandparents, H.T. “Tedo” and Margaret Ballew and mother-in-law, Nancy Cook.

In addition to his loving parents, Bucky and Wanda and loving wife Lyndsey, he is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Holly and Kevin Sizemore of Murfreesboro, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Mark Sockwell of Joplin, MO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell and Wesley Cook of McMinnville, TN; nephews and niece, Joshua Sizemore of Alpharetta, GA, Spoony Sizemore of Murfreesboro, TN, Hunter (Hannah) Sockwell of Woodbury, MN, Parker (Tiffani) Sockwell of Joplin, MO, Breelyn McGee, Hudson Hillis and Aiden and Collin Cook, all of McMinnville, TN and special aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

In addition to his family, Chad will be missed by the many special friends he made throughout his life. Chad truly lived life to the fullest and always left everyone with a smile and a laugh. His bright light will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held at High Funeral home on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 from 11 am until the time of service at 2 pm in High’s Chapel. Burial will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery in Warren County, TN.
