Charles Allen Buckner, Jr.

McMinnville, TN resident and Ennis, West Virginia native Charles Allen Buckner, Jr., age 78, was born January 4, 1943 and died November 8, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. A United States Army veteran of Vietnam, Purple Heart recipient, retired employee of Moore’s Building Supply and Supreme Building Supply, and member of Covenant Fellowship Church, he was the son of the late Charles Allen and Roxie C. Tedder Buckner, Sr. He was married to Anne Hall of McMinnville, TN on June 29, 1970. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Lois Bowman. In addition to his wife of 51 years, Mr. Buckner is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Brinda Buckner of McMinnville, TN; two grandchildren and spouse, Sara and Josh Ross and Cain Buckner, all of McMinnville, TN; two great-grandchildren, Eastlen and Gracelin Ross of McMinnville, TN; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Freda Knight of North Carolina, Elizabeth and Jack Peay of Virginia, and Betty and Gene Adams of Virginia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Covenant Fellowship Church, 7225 Manchester Highway, Morrison, TN 37357 with Dean Northcutt officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at Covenant. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. No service or visitation will be held at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com. High Funeral Home and High’s Cremations are in charge of arrangements.
