Charles Ray Wilson, born on the 20th of December in 1949 in McMinnville, Tennessee, passed from this world on the 20th of November, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida. A true Southern gentleman, Charles's journey through life was marked by kindness, wisdom, and an unwavering sense of integrity that touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
With love and warmth as defining traits, Charles approached life with an open heart and a generous spirit. He pursued every endeavor with dedication and fervor, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. Throughout his years, he cultivated friendships that blossomed into lasting bonds, sharing laughs, stories, and moments that will forever be cherished by those who were graced by his presence.
He was a Warren County Tennessee native where he resided in McMinnville until moving to Florida. He was a long time Parts Department manager at several dealerships in and around Middle Tennessee. He was a radio announcer for local radio station WBMC AM & FM for several years.
His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many who admired him, but the memories he created and the lives he touched will serve as a testament to a life well-lived. Charles is remembered for his fervent spirit and the generous love he shared. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in McMinnville.
He was preceded in death by his father Willard Ray Wilson, and his mother Lometa McGregor Wilson, sister Mary Jeanette Wilson, brother Robert Lynn Wilson of McMinnville & sister Katherine Joyce Wilson West of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Surviving are niece Joy West Catain of Largo, Florida, and nephew David Gregory West of St. Petersburg, Florida along with great nieces and nephews and great great niece and nephews as well as cousins and aunts.
Graveside service and inurnment will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville with Kenneth Watts officiating. No service or visitation will be held at High's.
