Cindy Lynn Koons

Rock Island, TN resident and Cincinnati, OH native Cindy Lynn Koons, age 64, was born January 5, 1961 and died July 6, 2025 at her residence following a sudden illness.

A homemaker and member of New Voice Worship Center, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Parker and Geneva Jernigan Elrod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Thurman and Grace Parker and maternal grandparents, Albert and Pauline Parker Jernigan.

She was married to Jimmy Koons of McMinnville, TN on February 11, 1978. In addition to her husband, Cindy is survived by daughters, April (Alan) Jakes and Chantell (Larry) Jones, both of McMinnville, TN; step-son, Bobby Koons of Indiana; grandchildren, Tyler McClure, Cody (Kayla) McGee, Caleb Willeby, Andrew Willeby, Lyndsey Jones, August Koons, David Koons and Wyatt Koons; great-grandchildren, Kolby McClure, Jace McGee, Elena McGee, Rhett McGee and Gage McClure; nieces, Jennifer Parker and Amy Vadakin; nephews, Brad Parker, and Joey and Sean Jenkinson;  brothers, James (Missy) Turner, Jr. of Rock Island, TN and Rick (Susan) Parker of Murfreesboro, TN and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Ruth Ann Jenkinson.

Per Mrs. Koons’ wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at New Voice Worship Center in McMinnville, TN with Daniel Campbell officiating. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cody and Kayla McGee at Citizens Tri-County Bank or to assist the family with funeral expenses via High’s Venmo.
