Claudie Mae Mitchell

McMinnville, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Claudie Mae Mitchell, age 91, was born May 28, 1931 and died March 2, 2023 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation in McMinnville following an extended illness.           

A retired factory worker and member of North Hills Church of God of Prophecy, she was the daughter of the late Will and Bessie Carter Simmons.  She was married to J.T. Mitchell who preceded her in death on January 9, 1998.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by eight siblings.

Mrs. Mitchell is survived by two sons, Jim (Mary) Mitchell of the Centertown Community and John (Robbie) Mitchell of McMinnville, TN; five grandchildren, Jason Mitchell, Jennifer Follis, Kristen Lottman, Holly Mitchell and J.T. Mitchell, II.; seven great-grandchildren, Prairie Mitchell, Miles Neely, Becca Lottman, Reece Lottman, Jesse Follis, Scarlett Follis and Zoe Cheng-Mitchell; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, Carson Rust.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Spencer Town Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at High’s.
