McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Cynthia Dawn Smith, age 55, was born June 7, 1968 and died March 16, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. An employee of St. Thomas River Park Hospital and member of Bonner Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Carolyn Whitlock of McMinnville and the late Waymon Morris Whitlock. She was married March 7, 2009 to Randal Wayne Smith who preceded her in death March 15, 2024. In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Casey and Maude Whitlock; maternal grandparents, Oliver “Man” and Ruth Hendrix and several aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her mother, she is survived by sister, Tracy (Gary) Coppinger of McMinnville; niece, Gracey Paige Coppinger of McMinnville; nephew, Jackson Trace Coppinger of McMinnville; special son, Japeth Tate; god-daughters, Christine Steinman and Hallie Claire Morris; sister-in-law, Karen (Joe) Martin of the Centertown Community; a multitude of aunts, uncles and god-grandchildren and special friends, Michelle Owen, Polly Wilson, Camille Kennedy, Jodi DiDomenico, Linda Trivett, Lacricia Marten, Debi Strawser, Kathy Merritt and Leann Clavijo. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in High’s Chapel with David Kilgore, Brian Whitlock and Tim Long to officiate. Interment will follow at Charles Creek Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
