David Thomas Yates, Sr.

Morrison, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native David Thomas Yates, Sr., age 77, was born January 23, 1945 and died September 24, 2022 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN. A retired employee of McMinnville Tool & Die, he was the son of the late Roy Blanton and Lola Mae Yates. He was married to Rose Fisher Yates of Morrison, TN on March 22, 1980. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Samuel Yates; brothers, Coy Yates, Glenn Blanton and Joel Blanton; brother-in-law, Clifford Fisher; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Jones, Eva Jacque and Betty Bergeron. In addition to his wife, Mr. Yates is survived by son, David Thomas (Rebekah) Yates, Jr. of Wartrace, TN; sisters, Teresa Bennett and Norma Dickinson, both of McMinnville, TN; brothers-in-law, Paul (Sharon) Fisher of South Carolina and Kenny (Mary) Fisher of Massachusetts; sisters-in-law, Jan Martin and Essie Shirley, both of South Carolina and Jane Kulis and Bonnie Slitz, both of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews. Per Mr. Yates wishes, he will be cremated. No service or visitation will be held at High’s and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
