Derrick Dewayne Johnson

McMinnville, TN resident and Birmingham, AL native Derrick Dewayne Johnson, age 43, was born January 25, 1983 and died March 11, 2026 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.

A cook with Wendy's and a member of the Westwood Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Robert Brown and Denita Annette Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his cousin, Eric Kimball.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his children, Donnivin Johnson of Sparta, TN, Cheyenne Johnson of Sparta, TN, John Princeton of White Co., TN, Trevor Jordyn Hendricks of Gainesboro, TN, Olivia Jean Johnson and DJ Johnson; first grandson, Malik Dewayne Johnson; fiancée , Kasey Estes; step-sons, Jakota and Jakobi Estes; brothers, Kenneth Johnson, Billy O'Neal and Michael Johnson; nieces and nephews, Jada Heard, Josh and Jalen Heard; mother of his children, Chasity Poss; sister, Krissy Poss; "Mom", Sharon Borges; father-figure, Doug Poss; aunt, Barbara "Boonie" Thrower; first wife, Nicole Tolbert; mother-in-law, Donna Estes and sister-in-law, Amy Estes.

Per his wishes, Mr. Johnson will be cremated.
