Dorothy Jean Cantrell

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County native Dorothy Jean Cantrell, age 84, was born July 11, 1940 to the late William "Bill" and Bessie Rigsby Drake and died November 29, 2024 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation.

She was a proud homemaker, wife, mother and Ma to her grand and great-grandchildren. She was married to the love of her life, James Larkin Cantrell for 62 years, who preceded her in death on April 13, 2019.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandchildren, Chris and Nicki Turner, brothers, Harold (Frances) Drake, John (Joyce) Drake and George (Yvonne) Drake and sisters, Sue (Wallon) Cantrell and Billie Coppinger.

Mrs. Cantrell was a member of Arlington Church of Christ and of the Midway FCE Club for many years and made many great friends. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her loving children, Teresa (Kelvin) Turner of Kansas, Renee (Darl) Smith of the Centertown Community and Thomas (Debbie) Cantrell and Tim (Candy) Cantrell both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Larkin (Cheryl Fain) Turner, Jessica (Daniel) Jones, Jacob (Kristin) Smith, T.J. (Alex) Cantrell, Tyler (Katelynn) Cantrell, Tommy (Kayla) Beasley, Haley (Tyler) Glenn and Hillary Hollis Hale; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Drake of McMinnville; special niece, Lisa Foster Cantrell of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews and treasured best friend, Elva Dean Bell of McMinnville.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Jon Simmons and Randal Gann to officiate. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at High’s.
