Dorothy Helen Rains

McMinnville resident and Lincoln County, TN native Dorothy Helen Rains, age 95, was born February 18, 1931 and died March 17, 2026 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness.

A retired stock room manager with Century Electric and a member of Magness Memorial Baptist Church, she was the loving daughter of the late David P. and Lula Johnson Chandler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie McGuire Rains; aunt, Jay Lillian Simons and cousin, Lora Simons.

Mrs. Rains is survived by her beloved children, Linda Rains Boone of Hendersonville, TN and Lonnie (Elaine) Rains of McMinnville; grandchildren, Matthew (Felena) Rains of McMinnville and Nathan (Erin) Boone of Germany; great-grandchildren, Jake Rains, Jett Rains, Aoife Boone, Anelle Boone, Auden Boone, Ambrose Boone and one great-great-grandchild on the way. 

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2026 in Highs Chapel with Jon Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
