Ernest Kenneth Martin

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Ernest Kenneth Martin, age 70, was born May 10, 1955 and died June 2, 2025 at his residence following an extended illness.

The owner of Plant A Tree nursery and a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Mort Bernice and Willie Lucille Roberts Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ricky, Eddie Dean, Leonard and Donnie Ray Martin and sister, Joann Nelson.

He was married to Anna Bratcher Martin of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife, Ernest is survived by three children, Lisa (Paul) Ortiz, Shawn Martin and April Walker, all of McMinnville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers, Bernice (Marie) Martin, Billy Joe (Janet) Martin, Tony (Anita) Martin and Marcus Martin, all of McMinnville; sisters, Patsy Jones of McMinnville, Dorothy (Bruce) Layne of Altamont, TN and Peggy Martin and Sherry (Gary) Duggin, both of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Ricky Basham and Hubert Marlow officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
