Frances "Shorty" Tate

Altamont, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Frances “Shorty” Tate, age 91, was born February 3, 1932 and died November 29, 2023 at Manchester Center for Rehab and Healing following an extended illness.           

A retired seamstress for Altamont Shirt Factory and a member of the Baptist church, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Ollie Belle Gross Tate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Nola Bea Page and Marie Fults. 

Miss Tate is survived by sister, Wilda Tate of Altamont, TN; three nephews, Donnie (Diana) Fults and Gerald (Lois) Fults, both of McMinnville and Wendell Page of Altamont, TN and several great-nieces and great-nephews and their families. 

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Altamont Cemetery in Grundy County, TN with Aaron Jones officiating. No service or visitation will be held at High’s. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery.
