Frederick Douglass Ramsey

Frederick Douglass Ramsey, age 71, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native was born September 23, 1949 and died September 5, 2021 at St. Thomas River Park following an extended illness. He was the youngest of five boys born to the late Ed Wiley and Annie Mae Stokes Ramsey in McMinnville, TN. He was educated in McMinnville Public Schools and then went on to Middle Tennessee State University. He worked in the shipping deparment for Carrier Corporation, and was a member of the Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son James Frederick Ramsey; brothers Edward (Ruth) Ramsey, Alfred (Norma) Ramsey, James (Peggy) Ramsey, and William Ramsey; nephews Larry & Darren Ramsey; and niece Audrey Ramsey. Fred will be remembered for his talkative nature and gift of storytelling. Mr. Ramsey is survived by his daughter Shelly Dionne Ramsey; nephews Ronald (Pat) Ramsey & Eric (Sarah) Ramsey; nieces Adrienne (Rob) Loray, Angela Bryant, Erin Ramsey; sister-in-law Jo Ella Ramsey; cousins Cynthia "Peaches" Scott & Bernice Maxwell; special friends Rosie Mae Solomon, Gwen Dartis, Willie Martin Ramsey, Ida Winton, Willie Malone, Joyce Marchbanks, & Marcia Ramsey. Visitation will be Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in High's Parlors.
