"G.D." Bess

McMinnville resident and Warren County native "G.D." Bess, age 86, was born May 7, 1939 and died October 18, 2025 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a brief illness.

A self-employed nurseryman and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Jonah and Velma Bouldin Bess.  He was married June 16, 1956 to Eva Nell Slaughter Bess who preceded him in death February 1, 2022.  In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Bess.

Mr. Bess is survived by two sons, Randy (Tanya) Bess and Mickey (Lisa) Bess both of McMinnville;  grandchildren, Ryan Bess, Lacey (River) Underwood, Jordan (Jonathon) Presley and Kaine Robinson;  great-grandchildren, Easton Underwood, Willow Underwood, Luke Presley and Kyler Robinson;  several nieces and nephews and special friend, Terry Panter of McMinnville.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in High's Chapel with Derrick Stiles officiating.  Burial will follow in the Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's.
