Helen Joyce Hodges

Rock Island, TN resident and Bledsoe County, TN native Helen Joyce Hodges, age 83, was born May 25, 1938 and died May 23, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired clerk with the Register of Deeds office, she was the daughter of the late Gaither Mac and Ina Mae Holland Johnson. She was married to Kenneth Hugh Hodges, Sr. on April 15, 1961 who preceded her in death on March 17, 2016. Ms. Hodges is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Amie Hodges of McMinnville, TN; two grandchildren, Brandon (Kristen) Hodges of McMinnville, TN and Kendra (Ben) Matheney of Rock Island, TN; four great-grandchildren, Lillie Mae Hodges, Evie Jay Hodges, Boone Edward Matheney and Banks Claire Matheney; two sisters, Shirley Alene Higgenbotham and Tom Warmington of Ohio and Dorothy and Doug Neely of Arizona and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Bro. James Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at High Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
