Helen P. Martin

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Helen P. Martin, age 93, was born December 18, 1927 and died November 22, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Hester L. and Daisy Cantrell West. She was married to Frank C. Martin on January 18, 1947 who preceded her in death on July 20, 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, I.D. West, Luther West, and Tom West and three sisters, Mary Curtis, Willie Mae Cates, and Virginia Beckwith. Mrs. Martin is survived by three sons, James F. (Brenda) Martin of Naples, FL, Edgar W. Martin and Timothy M. (Debi) Martin, both of McMinnville, TN; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Ross) Robinson of Mobile, AL, J.T. (Catherine) Martin of Nashville, TN, Lesley G. Martin of Dallas, TX, Julie (Tom) Douglass of Birmingham, AL, Abbi (Geoff) Ice and Anna (Daniel) Dorris, both of Nashville, TN, and Dr. Ashlin (Josh) Paz of Knoxville, TN; twelve great-grandchildren, Stewart Thames, Madeline Thames, Kaiser Martin, Mary Catherine Martin, James T. Martin, Jr., Mattie Douglass, Ford Douglass, Thatcher Ice, Helen Ice, Margot Dorris, Emma Paz, and Jonah Paz; numerous nieces and nephews; and long-time friends, Shelba and Mark Gribble also survive. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 26, 2021 in High’s Chapel with Jackie Matheny officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of NHC Healthcare McMinnville.
