Hubert Lee Phifer

Sparta, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Hubert Lee Phifer, age 84, was born May 31, 1937 and died August 19, 2021 at Cedar Hills Senior Living in Cookeville, TN. Veteran of the United States Air Force, retired manager from Textron Inc., and a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, he was the son of the late Johnnie Lee and Clata Mae Sparkman Phifer. Mr. Phifer is survived by daughter, Jenene Phifer Jones of Cookeville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Johnny Forrest and Aimee Savage Phifer of Baxter, TN; granddaughters, Journey Maeleah Jones, Jadie Mikaya Jones, and Alyssa Mae Phifer, all of Cookeville, TN and Arden Elise Phifer and Willa Adelaide Phifer, both of Baxter, TN; and mother of his children, Wanda Kay Mooneyham Phifer of Cookeville, TN also survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Cedar Hill Senior Living for their wonderful care and support. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on August 23, 2021 in High’s Chapel. Burial will follow in Preston Heights Cemetery in White County, TN. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of service on Monday at High’s. Mr. Phifer’s family respectfully request the wearing of masks’ if unvaccinated for COVID-19.
