James Forrest Martin

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County, TN native James Forrest Martin, age 80, was born December 20, 1943 and died December 31, 2023 at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A Tennessee Air National Guard veteran, retired sales manager with Metal Products Company and a member of New Union Church, he was the son of the late J. L. and Lola Kelley Martin. He was married to Teresa Jo Massey Martin on November 26, 1969. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Kelley Martin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Lillian Massey; grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Martin is survived by son Bill Martin of McMinnville, TN; sister-in-law, Edith Martin of Murfreesboro, TN; nieces, nephews and cousins, Emily (Mike) Rutherford of Tullahoma, TN, Mary Jane Banks of Georgia, Buddy (Janice) Kelley of Chattanooga, TN, Brenda (Billy) Cothren of McMinnville, TN, Stan (Lamaine) Martin of McMinnville, TN and Freddy (Rhonda) Martin of McMinnville, TN. Special “Thank You” to Sharon Welch as well as our extended families, the Welch family, the George family, the Cantrell family, the Higgins family, the Rowland family, the Higginbotham family, the Dodd family and Christie Allison. The family would also like to thank the staff at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital and NHC Rehab. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Paul Roberts and Mike Hale officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at High Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Food Bank.
