James Rowland Woods

McMinnville, TN resident and Cannon County, TN native James Rowland Woods, age 86, was born May 14, 1939 and died October 26, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, TN following a brief illness.

A retired employee with the Carrier Corporation and a member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Sherman and Nora Haley Woods. He was married to Margaret Ann Vinson Woods who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Mark Woods; four siblings, Dorren (Joyce) Woods, Benjamin Bratten Woods, Robbie (Ronnie) Fults and Jean (Taylor) Stembridge and infant sister, Helen.

Mr. Woods is survived by two daughters, Kristie Nicole Pope of Morrison, TN and Sonja LeAnn Woods of McMinnville, TN; sister-in-law, Linda Woods of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service was held at Bethany Cemetery in Warren County, TN. No service or visitation was held at High’s.
