Janice Evelyn Prater Coleman

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Janice Evelyn Prater Coleman, age 66, was born October 6, 1956 and died February 16, 2023 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN following a brief illness.           

A retired factory worker and a member of Ivy Bluff Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Gentry Prater.  She was married to James Rodney Coleman on April 24, 1988, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2022.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Jeremy Ernest Paris and brother, Truman Prater.

Mrs. Coleman is survived by daughter, Jennifer Paris of Murfreesboro, TN; grandson, Justin F. Wilson of McMinnville, TN; step-son, Terry (Tammy) Coleman of McMinnville, TN; step-grandson, Zachary Coleman; brothers, Donnie Prater and Jimmy Prater, both of McMinnville, TN; sisters, Faye (Phillip) Adcock of the Belk Community, Nadine (Danny) Sain of McMinnville, TN, Brenda (Joe) Merriman of Woodbury, TN and Gail (Danny) Gillette of McMinnville, TN; sister-in-law, Ann Prater of McMinnville, TN; several nieces and nephews and very special friend, Carley Jaye Wilson.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Blues Hill Cemetery in Warren County, TN with Phillip Prater officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at High Funeral Home.

There will be no service or visitation at High's on Sunday. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
