McMinnville, TN resident and Davidson County, TN native Jay Raden Davenport, age 48, was born June 7, 1974 and died February 21, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.
A retired Corrections Officer with TN Department of Corrections and member of Westwood Church of Christ, he was the son of Jerry and Linda Greene Davenport of McMinnville, TN. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Coleman and Elsie Davenport and George and Rachel Greene; aunts and uncles, Alton and Louise Greene, M.L. and Wilma Pistole, Rayford and Hannah Davis, Johnny and Daphne Greene, Jack Pirtle, Jim and Melba Griffith, G.B. Greene, Mike Worzek, Ken Greene, Jean McClung, Betty Smith and Joe Davenport and beloved dogs, Max and Loki.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davenport is survived by beloved dogs, Blue and Griffin; aunts and uncles, Joyce Pirtle, Fred and Faye Greene, Suzi Greene, Kaye Worzek and Faye Davenport and several cousins.
Per Mr. Davenport’s wishes he will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Ross Garrison and Jason Greene officiating with inurnment to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at High’s.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Viola Valley Dogs or Central Baptist Association Toy Drive, both in c/o High’s.
