Jearld Hillis

Jearld Hillis, age 78, a Warren County, TN resident and Van Buren County native was born February 12, 1941 and passed away April 3, 2019 in Erlanger Hospital following an extended illness. He was a self-employed horse farmer and son of the late B.B. and Anna Lou Stennet Hillis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Kenneth Lynn Hillis; brother, J.D. Hillis; and former wife, Zora Lee Grissom Hillis. Mr. Hillis is survived by loving caregiver for 27 years, Judy Groves; sons and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Sue Hillis of Sparta, TN and Jearld Hillis, Jr. of McMinnville, TN; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Minton of Dunlap, TN, Dianna Grissom of Rock Island, TN and Carol Ann and Ronnie Martin of Rocky River, TN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Shockley Cemetery with Josh Seals to officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at High’s.
