Jerry Wayne Roberts

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Jerry Wayne Roberts, age 82, was born April 29, 1941 and died August 20, 2023 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following a brief illness.           

A retired employee of the United States Postal Service and realtor and a member of Arlington Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Herbert E. and Maggie Romans Roberts. He served as a deacon for several years at Arlington Church of Christ and made several mission trips to Guyana. He was married to June Maynard Roberts on June 30, 1962 who preceded him in death on February 14, 2017. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Ed Roberts and three sisters, Evelyn Morgan, Wavie Herrin and Laura Turner.

Mr. Roberts is survived by two daughters, Shana Roberts and Ginger (Daron) Hall, both of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren, Dylan (Laura) Hall and Weston Hall, both of Nashville, TN; sister, Ruby Hennessee of McMinnville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donna Martin and Janice Maynard, both of McMinnville, Barbara Roberts of Paris, TN and Joe and Becky Maynard and Gail and Tommy Crouch, both McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Renette Smith, Tina Hale, Barbara Lance, Amanda Thaxton, Brandi Herrin, Brenda White, Leigh Bratcher and Lexy Newby.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 in High’s Chapel with Jon Simmons and Daron Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at High’s.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
