Jewell McCormick

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Jewell McCormick, age 87, was born April 3, 1934 and died January 16, 2022 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN following an extended illness. A retired seamstress and farmer and member of Campaign Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late William and Maggie Belle Delong Huntley. She loved flea markets and buying and selling antiques. She was married to Earl McCormick of Rock Island, TN on September 4, 1959. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Robert Howard Huntley and Henrietta Huntley; two half-sisters, Ora Belle Womack and Wavey Harrah; and half-brother, J.B. Huntley. In addition to her husband, Mrs. McCormick is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Osburn and Ruby Huntley of McMinnville, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 in High’s Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
