McMinnville resident and Warren County native Jewell Dean Winningham, age 69, was born April 11, 1955 and died August 16, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness.
A retired employee of Gardner Manufacturing, she was the daughter of the late George Houston and Daisy Bunch Thaxton, Sr. She was married to David J.M. Winningham, Sr. on May 30, 1975 who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Danny Thaxton and sisters, Ann Stotts and Jean Kirby.
Mrs. Winningham is survived by children, David (Jamie) Winningham, Jr. and Dawn Winningham (Byran Beverly), both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Hunter Winningham, Devlin Wells and Briley Wells; brothers, George Thaxton, Jr., Lonnie Thaxton and Mike Thaxton; sisters, Connie Seamons-Beard, Frances Jennings, Linda Rymer and Brenda Thaxton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Robin Hornbuckle officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
