Joel Cates

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native Joel Cates, age 76, was born April 1, 1950 and died September 12, 2026 at his residence following an extended illness.

A veteran of the United States Army and welder and pipe fitter, he was the son of the late Grady Walter and Willie Mae West Cates.

Joel was married to Lois Cates of McMinnville, TN on January 1, 1990. In addition to his wife, he is survived by several other family members and friends whom he loved dearly.

He loved to fish and watch the Tennessee Vols and NASCAR.

Per Mr. Cates wishes, he will be cremated. No service or visitation will be held at High’s.
