John Lee Bouldin, Sr.

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native John Lee Bouldin, Sr., age 96, was born March 11, 1925 and died January 17, 2022 at his residence following a brief illness. WWII and Korean War veteran of the United States Navy and retired owner of Rock Island Market, he was the son of the late M.A. and Ova Hitchcock Bouldin, Sr. He was married to Helen Juanita Jones on August 31, 1946 who preceded him in death on August 6, 2009. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Corker DeLoach, Sr.; grandson-in-law, Bo Turner; brothers, H.B. and M.A. Bouldin; and sisters, Esther Bess, Dean Bess, and Dola Searle. Mr. Bouldin is survived by two children and spouse, Ann DeLoach of McMinnville, TN and Bino and Sherry Bouldin of Rock Island, TN; five grandchildren and spouses, Kelly and Matthew Sheppard, Corker DeLoach, Jr., Tessa Turner, Leigh Ann DeLoach, and Jase and LeAnne Bouldin; five great-grandchildren, Brendon Sheppard, Trace Bouldin, Maelee Turner, Lane Sheppard, and Reese Bouldin; special companion and caregiver, Sue Phillips; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 in High’s Chapel with Roy Terry and James William Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Warren County, TN. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at High’s. Full military honors will be administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kids of the Community.
