John Thomas "J.T." Holt

McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native John Thomas “J.T.” Holt, age 83, was born March 10, 1938 and died February 13, 2022 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN following a sudden illness. A veteran of the United States Army, retired foreman from DeZurik, public transit driver at UCHRA and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Johnny Eldon and Bessie Emmalee Walker Holt. He was married to Betty Carolyn Foster Holt on November 3, 1967 who preceded him in death on October 21, 2020. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Margaret Chisam. Mr. Holt is survived by three children and spouses, John Bradley Holt and Brian Thomas Holt, both of McMinnville, TN and Susan Ruthann and Tim Page of Rock Island, TN; three grandchildren, Samantha Weeter, Ryan Thomas Holt and Sam Page; two great-grandchildren, Gus Reedy and Walker Thomas Weeter; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sara Jean and Doug Cantrell of Smithville, TN and Nancy Fay and Terry Womack of McMinnville, TN and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN with Jeff Page officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Magness Memorial Library.
