McMinnville resident and Warren County native Joy Carol Hillis Bouldin Wilmoth, age 78, was born December 4, 1945 and died March 7, 2024 at Willow Branch Health and Rehabilitation in McMinnville following an extended illness. A former employee of A.O. Smith, a bus driver and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Nolin and Della Hillis and Clarence “Red” and Elsie Hillis Safley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Billy Edward Bouldin and son, Terry Edward Bouldin. She was married to Leroy Wilmoth of McMinnville on December 26, 1985. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wilmoth is survived by daughter, Renee (John) Morgan of McMinnville; grandchildren, Adam Simmons of Cookeville, TN, and Brett Simmons, Jeffery Simmons, J.T. (Tiffany) Morgan and Laura (John) Herman, all of McMinnville; two great-grandchildren, Braden and Raylan Herman of McMinnville; step-son, Gary Wilmoth; step-daughter, Regina (Mike) Wiggins; step-grandson, Ben Wiggins; sisters-in-law, Lorene (Dennis) Smith and Maxine Fox; brothers-in-law, Donnie (Onda) Jackson and Johnny Jackson; great-aunt, Bonnie (Allen) Hitchcock and children by choice, Dawn Lowry Wanamaker and Brandon Lowry. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024 in High’s Chapel with Richard Bowman and Brandon Lowry officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at High’s. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
