Joyce Kay King

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Joyce Kay King, age 63, was born August 2, 1961 and died May 11, 2025 at her residence following a brief illness.

A self-employed nursery worker and member of the Church of Jesus Christ Non-Denominational, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ella Lois Clark McCormick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Charles Kenneth King, and niece, Tansey Talbert.

Mrs. King is survived by children, Daniel (Dana) King of Smithville, Benita King, Justin (Loretta) King and Angel (Nate) Stevens, all of McMinnville; grandchildren, Trayton (Hailey) King, Caeleb (Lauryn) King, M.J. (Emily) King, Dylan (Allison) Scott, Piper Lewis, Ayden King, Liam King, Kloey Jackson and Chloe Miller; great-grandchildren, Wesson and Hyndrix King; sisters, Dana McCormick and Pansy (David) Kilgore; brother, Johnny McCormick; friend Kenneth Waggoner and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in High’s Chapel with Dana McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Shellsford Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
